About Lola's Buttnuggets
Simply put, Lola's Buttnuggets started as a family in Surry, VA going to Tractor Supply and finding the cutest chicks in the world. Little Lola, 8 years old at the time, fell in love with the tiny baby chickens. She diligently looked after them and loved on them.
As time went on, Lola obtained ducklings and couldn't stop giggling at their little waddles and quacks. Before Mama knew it, Lola had over 30 chickens and 11 ducks and Mama asked, "Lola, what are we going to do when we are drowning in 41 eggs a day?" That's when an 8 year old's entrepreneurial dream came to light.
She responded with, "I want to start a business. An egg selling business and maybe even selling chicks and ducklings to others. And maybe more!" What could a Mama do but smile and say, "Okay. Let's do it."
All proceeds go straight into Lola's college savings account (once you take into account feed costs) and Lola hopes one day she can produce enough to have a program where when you buy a carton of eggs, we donate a carton to a family in need in the Hampton Roads area. Look for Lola's Buttnuggets at the Surry Farmer's Market, Chicken Swaps, and on our farm.
